Angels Among Us Blog Hop

Oh I believe there are angels among us
Sent down to us from somewhere up above.
They come to you and me in our darkest hours.
To show us how to live to teach us how to give.
To guide us with the light of love.

(Lynne speaking) I know for myself, that I have a guardian angel watching over me as she is my very own precious child that I had lost in 1991 and she would have been 23 years old today. Strange how comforting it is to know that someone watches over us in sew many ways.

When life held troubled times, and had me down on my knees.
There’s always been someone there to come along and comfort me.
A kind word from a stranger, to lend a helping hand.
A phone call from a friend, just to say I understand.

Today's hop may be the story of our own Guardian Angel who watches over us, the beauty of angels, or just expressing kind words. The craft blogging world is phenomenal as sharing loving thoughts and caring towards others.

We have fabulous sponsors today
  1. Lucy Kelleher, A Close to My Heart representative, has graciously offered a stamp set called "Angelic Blessings" to one lucky winner that becomes a follower of her blog,http://love2createitall.blogspot.com
  2. Daisy Collins of I Love Sketches by Tsunami Rose, http://tsunamirosedesigns.blogspot.com/, also has a Zibbet store, http://www.zibbet.com/tsunamirose, where she designs beautiful papers - has graciously offered to custom design a paper for one very very lucky winner that becomes a follower of her blog!
If you were visiting me today, I appreciate and love you visiting me, but would want you to start at the beginning of the hop not as to miss a single angel with Lynne at http://slasewcraftiness.blogspot.com/. If you have arrived from Janet, then you are in the right flight!

This blog hop is near and dear to my heart.
As you may know, by the title of my blog,
I love angels and strongly believe they are among us each day.
My daughter was an angel one year for Halloween.
She was maybe 4 years old at the time. It was even then that I loved angels so much...
I think that is why she was an angel that year...
Jessica has always been my little angel...
Yep, this is my daughter in her Halloween costume.
I can remember when she went trick or treating she had to  turn to her side to
slide into the door ways, the wings were soooo big (one end they were taller than her)...
we got this darling dress the night before the occasion at the
local Joann's, it was one of the displays, anyway
it was perfect, like an angel brought it to us. It fit perfect could not have been better.
then we bought some white material and some fabric stiffener. We put the stiffener on the
material and put  it on the floor to dry, and prayed to the angels that it would dry for school in the morning... I colored the the wing tips with some gold paint...

There's my Angel
So to pay tribute to my angel obsession I made this cute card

I got to use my alcohol inks to color the digital stamp. The digi stamp is by Bugaboo...
added some bling and a bow...pretty easy...

I have some blog candy to give 1 lucky comment,
you must be a follower to win....

fly along now...

Your next stop along the way today is Michele. I thank you and appreciate you're stopping today and hope you stop again!

I have the complete line-up of the angels in the blog hop just in case you get off the chosen path!!!

Chalk Ah Lot Cafe Challenge ~ Anything Goes

This is week 2 of this challenge over
@

Chalk ~ Anything Goes

I ran across this great sentiment over at Stamp N Plus Scrap N
' Life is Like Fishing  ... you never know what your going to get'
and I just knew I had to have it...but then I had nothing to put with it...
so I HAD to have this little dog that's fishing  ...  again from
I used the chalk direct to paper/card stock technique, by coloring in the stamp
as well as coloring the water in 'general'  ...
I used the chalk colors ~ Sky, Teddy Bear, Dusk and Blush
It's kind of a simple card...
I used VersaMark and heat embossed the sentiment, OK so I am not the best at this stamp'n thing  ... but it is getting better  ...  just bear with me  ...

Well, I guess I am doing good enough to become a 'Senior DT' for
this Chalk team...oh, I am so excited ... I never knew this was coming  ...

Oh and while you are here  ...
put it on your calendars  !!!
There will be another
3 DAY blog hop
April 3rd, 4th, & 5th
@
Chalk Ah Lot Cafe Challenge Blog

I think its going to be pretty fun  ...
and really easy to cash in on some goodies  ...
I think I heard that there will be LOTS of Chalk going out
this hop....

Hope you all having a nice weekend  ...
I am busy crafting my heart out  ...

Thanks for stopping by
be sure to leave me a comment
I love to hear what peps have to say  ...

Dr. Seuss Blog Hop

“Think left and think right and think low and think high. Oh, the thinks you can think up if only you try!” ― Dr. Seuss

Don't hop on pop but hop on top of the Dr. Seuss Blog Hop, where a bunch of talented people came up with their own interpretations of the wonderful imagination of Dr. Seuss. The skies the limit when you have an imagination like Dr. Seuss and talent like those in this hop. Our hop today is hostessed by Jearise in Lorby's World and that is were to begin if you've happened here by chance otherwise continue on my friend.

Jearise in Lorby's World has some fun blog candy for this hop. She has a stuffed Cat in the Hall and a fun Thing 1 and Thing 2 craft plus a $10 gift card to Michaels. I know they're silly but doesn't that follow in the steps of Dr. Seuss?

Theodor Seuss Geisel  1904 ~ 1991

Born in 1904, Dr. Seuss wrote more than 60 books for children before dying in 1991.
His writings have become classics, bestsellers and will forever be read and cherished by all.
Four major motion pictures have been made based on Seuss's classic books (How Grinch Stole Christmas, The Cat in the Hat, Horton Hears A Who!, The Lorax).
An entire area of Universal Studios Islands of Adventure theme park is based on Dr. Seuss.

Today I wanted to do a card for Dr. Seuss, signifying his sucess...
I have two more to share that really touched my heart,

'You know your in love
when you can't fall asleep
because reality
is finally better
than your dreams.'

'Today you are you
that is truer than true
There is not one alive
Who is youer than you.'

This is the inside of the card, another of one of his Great poems...

Can I just say I love, love, love my Cameo... I found these great images online from various places by doing a goole search. I brought them into Silhouette Studio Designer Edition.
Once there I was able to resize and organize and even trace the hat image to cut,
Oh and yeah I used my handy dandy Chomas Creations Pen Holder to write(cut) the poem on the inside
I printed what I wanted, then did the cuts with my Cameo......
added some pop dots and a little ink...
whah la... there you have a simple, yet personal card.

Dr. Seuss, May you always be remembered for your inspiration to many...
keep the love of reading alive in each of us....

Thank you for joining us because...
“You're off to Great Places! Today is your day! Your mountain is waiting, So... get on your way!” ― Dr. Seuss, Oh, the Places You'll Go!

Your next stop is  Ellen - CardMonkey

If you get stuck behind the great parade down at Mulberry Street, here's the links that you can follow on the Great Thing-a-majigger as you are on an adventure. "The Cat in the Hat knows a lot about that!"

Chalk Ah Lot Cafe Blog Hop Day 3

Hello! Welcome to Chalk-Ah-Lot Cafes First Blog Hop! Feb 28th - March 1st That gives you 3 days to play!

I saved the best for the last...heehee...today I have an altered project for you...I got this white eraser board vinyl... I had it my head what I wanted but it just ....  came out better than expected...
I used a purple color chalk and mixed it with some paint (Buzz N Magic Paint) by the same company that sells the powdered chalks....and when I say it does not take much chalk to get the color you want, I mean its not but a pinch of chalk with a glob of paint... This is and 8x10 old basic frame that I had laying around...up-cycle ... my fav thing to do...
I wanted to add some cut files to this project so I used SVGCuts Cheryl's Cute Bugs collection and a
3D bow from the Silhouette America Store.
I cut some purple vinyl with my Cameo to add the word art at the top...

OMG....was this fun...I love it so much....I don't know what to do with it now cuz its too cute to give away!!! hehehe ... well it will find a great home in my house somewhere I am sure...but for now... I have it in my crafting corner so I can admire my piece of art...

It's not yet March but I wanted to give you time to plan ahead...This stamp is also from Stamp N Plus Scrap N Web site ... he is so darn cute... I colored the 3 leaf clover with green chalk and then the cut 4 leaf clover is sprayed with a mix of water and Stardust Chalk....can I just tell you how cool this chalk is to mix with water... you put a bit of water in a spay bottle and add some chalk ... any color they have a ton to choose from and away you spray...has yet to clog and I have it sitting on my desk for a few weeks now...and it always sprays just perfect every time... Stardust Chalk is so shimmery and pretty, its a MUST have ... you can get it at the online Chalk Ah Lot Store here is a direct link to that product.  I used just some sharpe and bic markers to color the rest of the image...oh and I sprayed the back green paper too...made it shimmery too... put it all together and added some ribbon ... easy peasy as they say it...

Chalk Ah Lot Cafe Blog Hop Day 1

Hello! Welcome to Chalk-Ah-Lot Cafes First Blog Hop! Feb 28th - March 1st That gives you 3 days to play!
Day 1 means 1st of 3 projects for this 3 day hop....
So for todays project I did a simple and easy card...

I have named it
Footprints in the Sand....heehee
real original I know...haha

I used the foot stamps from Stamp N Plus Scrap N web store... oh so cute...I stamped the image in a brown and then took Teaddy Bear colored Powdered Chalk by Chalk Ah Lot Cafe Chalk Store that sponsers our Chalk Ah Lot Weekly Challenge Site and rubbed it with a cotton ball and/or a fluffy paint brush, I like to do both to get a good background...I think it looks like the feet are in sand...so I found the poem 'Foot Prints In The Sand' on the internet and printed it out... cut it to size ... added the little feet in the blocks and there you have a wonderful easy card for someone that needs a 'pick me up'...
oh and I also ink'd the edges with a brown ink on all the parts ...
I like to do that on almost all of my projects...as you already know... lol...
I love how this turned out... it's maybe my best card to date...lol...

Please hop along with us! You have a chance to win a different prize at each design team's blog.

Prizes include Mini Stamp sets Barbara's & Martha's
Prize Buzz N Magic Glue Cindy's

MyGrafico Monday ~ Feature File St. Patty's day

Oh, its March already...wow how time is flying...
this weeks MyGrafico feature file is...

Get File Here

to me March means Spring and where I live Spring = Wind
I live in a very Windy area Arizona...
It can be a beautiful day and the next day...
well we have to pick up our lost items in Albuquerque, NM...heehee
No really its that windy here...

Well enough of that...
this week I came up with a card to share with you...

March also reminds me of money, I guess with all the green, I think of money...don't really know why but that's what came to mind...lol...
Well with this I used my Cameo print and cut option, I am not sure if you can see that there is a ribbon peeking out of the sides of the pop dotted LUCKY...kind of hard to see that... the cute flower made me think of a sunshine...and I just love this tree...so fun yet simple...

I hope you enjoyed this weeks project, and I KNOW that the other design team members came up with some REALLY cute projects... there is one that I just NEED to know how to make it...so maybe some time I will use it...
go check out the other design team members projects and tell me which project you think I am talking about...now for fun...if you make a guess by leaving a comment, be sure to leave a contact email or blog address for me to contact you...there just might be some blog candy here...

Mardi Gras Parade Blog Hop

Welcome to our Mardi Gras parade.

I must warn you though while you may enjoy jumping up to catch beads, doubloons, cups, stuffed animals--whatever! Please yell at the float riders "Throw me something, Mister!" Bring a large, sturdy plastic or cloth bag to hold all the treasure you'll be catching - if you try to put all of your beads around your neck, you'll have a hard time standing up straight! Be prepared: some people get so overcome with excitement they will occasionally jump in front of you to grab what a rider has thrown to you. Don't get into a tug-o-war....there are many more floats on the way! If you're from far away, some visitors hold up a sign saying where they are from.. our local riders love to see people from far away have a good time and will throw to them to make sure they do! The colors of Mardi Gras are: Purple which represents justice; Green which represents faith; and Gold which represents power.Mardi Gras is always held the Tuesday before Ash Wednesday. Mardi Gras is music, parades, picnics, floats, excitement ... and one big holiday in New Orleans! Everyone is wearing purple, green, and gold; and adorned with long beads caught from the beautiful floats. They sit on the ground throwing balls, playing music, having a picnic, and watching the crowds walk by between parades. Instead of beads, coconuts (which apparently is the most prized throw from floats) and other baubles, we have a great sponsor:

■$15 Gift Card for Treasure Box Designs (http://www.treasureboxdesigns.com/). They are asking you to stop by their blog and checking out their Guest Designer projects and leaving a comment at http://treasureboxdesigns.blogspot.com/. They are a part of the parade route!

■$50 Gift card from Anita Meadows Cannon

Sew, sit back with your beverage of choice, just keep in mind the police will be in full force watching for drunken lewdness as this is a family event! Feel free to watch in costume, as this is a festive hop!!
If you have arrived from Anita on the parade route, then you are sitting at the best seat in the house!

If you have just happened to be visiting me today, don't get me wrong as I always love visitors, I would love for you to start at the beginning of our parade route at Lynne, your hostess along with Kimberly, at http://slasewcraftiness.blogspot.com/.

Well today I have a gate fold card with the drama and comedy masks on each side of the front ...

then a beautiful Doily from SVGCuts Doilies Kit...
I used the doily and then did a shadow in Silhouette Designer Edition to create the back ground and used a basic shape to create the yellow circle.... I used a stamp from Stamp N Plus Scrap N for the sentiment...
simple as that...

Here is 1 more photo of the card...
oh yeah, I was at the dollar store and I saw these beads
and knew I had to have them for this project...
I think it added a great touch...

Hope enjoyed my float in the parade. To continue on the parade route, Your next stop is Theresa . I would love for you to throw me your comments as to my tribute to Mardi Gras!

Here is a list of the entire Parade, so if you get lost in route hop on a float and get back on the hop...
