What I did for Earth day ~ 2012

What I did for Earth day ...

I up cycled some old prescription bottles

&

The labels from the packaging

And this is what I came up with ...

I have wanted some twine for so long now ... and now I don't know what to do with it... but I have 8 different colors by Doodle Twine... I really like it so far... 

it came in this really nice cute little rolled cardboard.

Its 20 yards, but looks like a ton... I got a great deal at Custom Crops, and it shipped so fast I think I ordered it Monday or Tuesday and I had it in hand Friday... so impressed !!!

I had no where to keep it in my messy but yet somewhat organized disaster of a craft area...

and I also wanted to do something in light of Earth day...

so with some old prescription bottles laying around I happen to have a few that fit JUST right...

I put a hole in the top for the twine to come up through... and I took the label right off the twine and put it on the bottle so I know which ones to reorder...and where from... and all that good stuff...

I measured the bottles and then made a template with my Cameo to hold the bottles together in a 'brick' ... oh I think this is be handy dandy ... what do you think?

A Little Birdie Told Me...

using Stipple Brush Technique ...

Ok so that was not that funny ... but I just had too ... lol ...

So with this cute card can you tell that the little birdie is what was stippled?

I guess that's about all that could be ... lol 

Well I had some left over stipple paper in this beautiful yellow ... 

Dandy is the color chalk that was mixed with some 

Buzz N Magic Paint ... oh how I love this technique ...

as you can change ANY plain paper into something amazing ...

I cut the bird from SVGCuts April Avenue SVG Collection

Oh and I used Stamp N Plus Scrap N

stamp for the message ... it is from the 

Pepe and Fufu pups Dog Rubber Stamps collection ...

Oh sooooo cute this card is....

The 'cloud' card stock is from AC Patterned Paper pack

and the yellow patterned paper is from the stash ... otherwise I don't remember the stack I used it from ... but it is one of those big value stacks that you can get at Michael's or Joann's for really cheep ...

and a couple of pop dots to finish it off ...

Chalk Ah Lot Cafe DT Project ~ Stipple brush technique

Technique for this challenge is
'Stipple Brush'

Yeah what is 'stipple brush' ~ that's what I said too...lol...

so when you mix the powdered chalk with glue, Mod Podge, paint or any other medium you can use a stencil brush or a stipple brush to 'pounce' the paint/chalk mixture onto the paper or project...

At first I thought, OK wow ... what and how...but after playing with the chalk and Mod Podge and paint I found that this technique is pretty fun...

so this weeks card turned out very pretty...

if I say so myself...lol...

I used the Light House stamp from Stamp N Plus Scrap N

stamped it with a good black ink over the top of the stipple paint

Powdered chalk from The Powdered Chalk Store mixed with
Stamp N Plus Scrap N Buzz N Magic Paint

Black ribbon from the stash

The dry embossing folder from Cuttle Bug...

Pretty simple...sometime simple is good...simple and clean...

Happy Easter

This is what I did for my Easter morning...

These cute little toppers were made with

Silhouette America files...oh I just love

having a subscription to that store...

when I am feeling the need to buy....

I can do some shopping ... and each month I get more

credits...oh wow what a cool birthday present this was 

from my husband... ok so I did do these projects for a reason...

pay backs...lol...

Oh they are just so cute!!!

the cotton tail is real cotton balls with ink on them...

This little egg is from SVGCuts.com  Poplar Street Tulips SVG Kit

also made for my darling hubby...he needed a 'decorated egg' for work...

and my first thought was 'does it have to be eatable?' lol...

so I put Robbin eggs inside...now its eatable...heehee

so what do you think?

Pretty fun, huh...

Eek...I just wanted to let you know I am taking a small break from MyGrafico...I will be back on track in about a month...

but you will still see me on Sundays with Chalk Ah Lot Cafe projects...

so don't think I am gone...just taking a break...

I have a big order that I have to finish for a graduation...and its just taking way more time then I planned...wow did I under sell myself on this one...!!! lol... 

I guess I did not know what my time was really worth...

Week 2 of this challenge

Use chalk in 2 different ways on the same project...

for this weeks project, 

I used a simple sentiment stamp from

Stamp N Plus Scrap N

'Blush' colored Powdered Chalk

Chalk Ah Lot Chalk Store

AC Card Stock

I cut the 'Note' and the flower using my Cameo

and used the Argyle Embossing folder by Cuttlebug

ribbon and brad from the stash...

I have been out of the groove of things for the last week...I had so much going on in the family world...that this has taken a back burner...

so for a few weeks I will be posting for Chalk Ah Lot Cafe Challenge Blog 

but taking a break from MyGrafico Monday...

I hope to get back into the swing of things once spring fever is over...lol

Well for this final day I wanted to do something a bit different then a card


so....

Adding some chalk to the 'just' painted image gave this wonderful look...
I used a cotton ball to apply the 'sky' over the wet paint and I used a paint brush with cool green chalk over the wet paint for the grass...
I used Cheryl's Cute Bugs SVG Kit by SVGCuts for the great butterfly
I used the clouds from a Silhouette America Freebie File
added some pop dots to give it some 'POP'
and there you have it...
A Cute little spring frame...
Now what do I do with it?
Give me some ideas...

I have for you a little Kite  !!!

This is a Silhouette America free file that I got...

Used my wonderful Cameo to cut ... even the 'string' is cut out of paper...the detail is just amazing, it's just crazy how nice this little machine works...I love it...

I used Paint mixed with powdered chalk...bad me ...

I can't remember the color I used...oh well at least I am honest about it...lol...

after I let the paint dry, I dry embossed with a Sizzix Boutique using the

Sizzix Swirly folder...

Pretty easy peasy...
