How about Weathered Ribbon...

 

This weeks tutorial and challenge is just that...

Weathered Ribbon

there is so many ways to

weather your ribbon...

So design team member Pam,

gives us just a few ideas to do just that...

 

 

If you have any other ways to 'weather ribbon' please

I just love the way this turned out...

the ribbon was just PERFECT for this application...

I got it at Dollar Tree for ...

a dollar of course...lol...

Is a Sheer Ribbon, and it comes with quite a bit on the roll...

5/8 in wide and 6 yards long...what a deal...

with it I turned on the heat gun/heat tool

and started the melting process...

I did not want to melt it to the card and for sure not burn the paper...

so you MUST be VERY CAREFUL

doing this to the ribbon...

I first made the card...

Used Stampin' Up DSP...oh this so beautiful...

too bad I did not get more...well it's not too late to get some of this

DSP at Stampin' Up...it's on the retired list from the 2012-2013 Catalog...

it's the Floral District Designer Series Paper...

oh and a Mark's Finest Paper a Heinrich Co stamp

from the Spring Flowers Stamp Set

the card is a double gate fold or double Z fold card ...

when its opened up it's got another panel of colors...

 

 

here is what it looks like opened up...

I love the belly band...

Oh yeah back to how I did the weathered ribbon..,heehee

I assembled the card and added the ribbon to the belly band...

then with the heat tool/gun

I made the ribbon start to melt...BE CAREFUL when doing this...

DO NOT BURN YOURSELF!!!

or your project...

I am not sure what it is...but I figured I better looking to it...

as what I have found is Blogger will no longer have a blog reader...

So I will do more research on this and update this post, IF I need too.

so darling, it can be found on the Silhouette Online Store

it's a newer stamp, released in April...

'Zoo Friends'

it's a darling stamp set, it's perfect for a kids card

or even a zoo party invitation...

maybe use it on a trip to the Zoo scrapbook page...

Folded Paper Frame Card

This is a neat technique, thanks Jane

you can do so much with it...

Here is what I made with this tutorial...

it's so cool...you can really emphasize that special stamp or item...

you could even put something small that you want to give as a gift...

like a small charm, use some removable adhesive to the back of the charm

and put it in the frame ... what a fun idea...

I just thought of that...heehee

Maybe I will try that...lol

that inspires you within your home...

 so what inspired me was...

I have love in my home...

so I made this card to represent that...

Used a Mark's Finest Paper a Heinrich Co stamp set...

distressed the background after stamping the images...

added some seam binding...

mounted it to a card base...

bet you did not know that the light brown papers were WHITE to start with...

heehee...I love to distress or change white cardstock to

meet my needs...

This is such a fun idea...

I love how my card turned out...

I used a reinker to dye my lace and seam binding...

you could never guess what color reinker I used to get this color...

Dark Brown...that's right I don't know what I did wrong...

but both the lace and seam binding turned out this really cool color...

such a great distressed look with this technique...I love it...
